We now appear to have 12 long haul routes and if you include IST this would make 13
Also I believe most routes are full or at least 90 %

Next year if rumours are correct we are looking a a further 3 long haul.

Having just returned from a work trip to the US, mostly in TX, I was surprised to view a visit scotland tv commercial on a couple of cable channels. My co workers told me they are aware of a number of delegations having visited the metroplex in the last few months. I suspect American Airlines will have been on the target list for a possible direct route from DFW to EDI. Also on the subject of AA, resumption of the PHL route in S24 is widely rumoured/expected. As for other new routes, who knows. It's all rumour.

I wouldn't be surprised to see DL extend the operating season for the ATL route in S24. With VS starting in early April, I'd expect DL to follow suit and start much earlier. The ATL route is performing extremely well, particularly with up front pax in J class.

The one route I'm less convinced will be here for the long term is Calgary with Westjet. Their recently appointed new CEO is not a fan of the airline operating to both LGW and EDI. The airports being too close to each other according to him. Perhaps he doesn't understand the markets? It's no secret that the route is heavily subsidised. It will be very interesting to discover what the LF is for the route.

One airline I was thinking about was Norse, operating out of LGW at present to the US.  I could see them moving into EDI for a summer services my bet would be LAX.
Or virgin expanding to the west coast. Less likely.

I think PHL will be back when AA get hold of some more 787.

Checking out AC over the next few weeks seems to be over 80% booked on the days I picked. I agree with you on West Jet, Vancouver would be a better choice more to do there.

I've heard there's a bid for the LAX funding too / routes.

LAX certainly offering incentives. Which carrier would take a punt? Norse have been mentioned but they appear to be happy using LGW for all UK/US routes. American only serve LHR from LAX. This only leaves United and Delta.

Atlanta inbound is severely delayed. The outbound back to ATL left pretty much on schedule, using the aircraft from BOS. Unluckily for BOS pax, their flight is now delayed.

MCO only operates outbound on Wed and Sat.
