My parents were on todays inbound flight from MCO. A good service but around an hour for baggage reclaim.

I believe that down to the ground handling agent Menzies by any chance

I think both Menzies and Swissport were backed up a fair bit.

There's an article in the Scotsman about Swissport.

Lots of bags on cages in the terminal.
